Cramond House Dental Practice

As you will probably have heard, dental practices can now re-open and we are pleased to be restarting on 11 June.

It won’t be business as usual at first and it will take some time to return to our normal levels of activity.  Some treatments may be different to those we were able to offer before depending on staff and equipment available.  We appreciate your patience.

We have all endured much over the past few months and are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines.  While many things have changed our commitment to the safety of our patients and staff has not.

Infection control has always been a top priority for dental practices and you may have seen this during your visits to Cramond House.  We follow guidelines from government and professional bodies and are up to date with the new guidance that has been offered in the light of the continuing Coronavirus pandemic to ensure our procedures are current and adhere to recommendations.  The shortage and vastly increased cost of appropriate PPE and other equipment has been widely publicised.  Unfortunately we will have no option but to pass on some of these costs in our pricing structure.  Denplan fees will not be affected.

Initially we will prioritise patients who are experiencing painful symptoms and those whose treatment was postponed when we had to shut down.  Please do not contact us yet to arrange routine appointments.  We have a register of everyone who is due a recall and will be arranging appointments in due course.

You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment.  We have made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.  For example:

  • We will contact you beforehand to ask some screening questions.  You will be asked those same questions again at your appointment.
  • We have hand sanitiser that we will ask you to use.  You will also find some in the Reception area and other places in the practice for you to use as needed.
  • We are trying to avoid use of the waiting rooms and no longer offer magazines etc. as these items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for adequate social distancing between patients.  This may mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you as well as to reduce the number of people in the building at any one time.

You can help us:

  • Please do not visit the practice without prior arrangement.
  • With the exception of children and those with carers, patients should come alone.
  • Please do not bring any bags or other items with you.  Toilet facilities will not normally be available on the premises.
  • Maintain social distancing if another patient is present.
  • Payments should be made by card - ideally over the phone.
  • If you show any symptoms of possible COVID-19 after making an appointment, you should contact us by phone.
  • Please do not arrive early.  You should wait outside and we will invite you in at your appointment time.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon.
